We are currently recruiting in our Finance Department based in our newly created shared service centre in Telford for a Fixed Asset Accountant. This role will be responsible for processing Fixed Assets movements, monitoring Fixed Assets ledger accounts and also Fixed Assets Master Data. The role also inlcudes running fixed asset-related reports and coordinating tasks in order to address improvements to the team leader.

In this role the key responsibilities will include:

  • Balance sheet reconciliations for all Fixed Asset related control accounts
  • Ensuring all approvals of fixed asset expenditure & projects are in place in line with company guidelines
  • Liaison with Group Fixed Asset accounting team
  • Responsibility for annual impairment and verification ownership
  • Create fixed asset master data in the course of workflow
  • Analyse fixed asset master data
  • Process fixed asset acquisitions, retirements and transfers
  • Responsibility for fixed assets at month and year end closing
  • Responsibility for all fixed asset reporting
  • Responsibility for IFRS16 accounting treatment and reconciliation
  • Ensure accounting in line with UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Working closely with UK tax team
  • Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
  • Assist in project closure processes and capitalisation reviews

Key skills & experience

  • Full or Part Qualified – ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Strong analytical skills that can be evidenced in work history
  • Ability to work as part of a team and as well as on own initiative.
  • Ability to encourage the development and empowerment of the team.
  • Ability to work with people from both financial and non-financial backgrounds.
  • Transfer knowledge to other team members.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
