Innovation & Strategy Manager – Medical Devices – Cambridge

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced innovation and strategy expert to join a well-established medical devices company based in Cambridge.

This role is perfect for an engineer or scientist who has progressed into a management role and who has a passion for innovation and solving real-world engineering problems.

As the Innovation and Strategy Manager your main responsibilities will be to create proposals and execute multiple analysis projects, allowing the company to make strategic decisions with regards to products, concepts and processes. This will include products already in the pipeline as well as a strong emphasis on shaping future research and development and manufacturing strategies.

The role will also encompass the leading of multiple strategic projects including make vs buy, technology portfolio management and future products and will give you an opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest engineers and scientists in the sector. You will be in regular contact with the company’s commercial and technology leaders, all working together to ensure the company’s upward trajectory is continued.

You will be utilising your innovation expertise to take lead and commercial responsibility on several projects, alongside project managers and engineers and conveying your knowledge and ideas that could result in significant reduction in manufacturing costs and increased revenue streams for new products.

To be considered for this exciting role you will have significant experience in working with and interviewing senior members and key opinion leaders within the engineering sector whilst also having experience in distilling technical and business information from a range of sources. You will also need to have a passion complex technology. For this role we are considering people who have experience within the medical devices, combination products or scientific instrument sectors.

Additional attributes that would be highly beneficial are experience of IP and technology landscaping, commercial and technical due diligence and project management.
