One of the world’s leading Commodities and Financial Markets Bank is looking for a Trade Surveillance Business Analyst to deliver key projects within the Surveillance function. The role sits within Compliance and monitors Financial Crime, Market Conduct and Conflicts of Interest risks.

About the Trade Surveillance Business Analyst role:

The successful Business Analyst will support the analysis and design phase of the project, collating and documenting the requirements in accordance with regulations and best practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Gathering of detailed business requirements
  • Conduct in-depth gap analysis of the data availability within the organization
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge and understanding of market/financial affairs and Market Conduct rules/regulation
  • Provide support on ad-hoc projects which require reactive response such as regulatory or exchange enquiries
  • Assist with the testing and evaluation of Surveillance system enhancements
  • Assist in Functional / UAT / BCP / DR testing where required
  • Complete full Business Requirements and Functional Requirements Research

Skill set required

  • Proven track record of delivery as a Business Analyst with experience of Trade Surveillance, Fraud, Market Conduct and Abuse
  • Experience of market surveillance technologies acquired through project implementation or as an end-user is preferable – Actimize would be beneficial
  • Experience and comfortable working with large sets of data and writing SQL queries
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of market abuse regulations within Capital Markets, Derivatives and/or Commodities Markets
  • Understanding of relevant Market Abuse laws, regulations and guidelines
  • Knowledge of FCA relevant Market Conduct rules
  • Experience of working closely with key stakeholders, business sponsors and end-users within a Compliance and Surveillance function
